 Gulliver wore Rushden's colours between 2004 and 2006 |
Rushden & Diamonds have re-signed central defender Phil Gulliver from Hereford - a year after he left Nene Park to move to Edgar Street. The 24-year-old was under contract with the Bulls, but has been released from his deal there in order to rejoin Rushden on a one-year contract.
"The supporters will be celebrating one of their favourites returning," boss Garry Hill told the club website.
"He has demonstated his commitment by taking a pay cut to return."
Born in Bishop Auckland, Gulliver joined Rushden from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2004, and made 72 league appearances in two seasons with the Diamonds.
He never played for Boro's first team, but was loaned out to Blackpool, Carlisle, Bournemouth, Bury and Scunthorpe.
He made 26 league appearances for Hereford last season.
