Chester's Ellison set for Millers

Rotherham United have agreed a deal to sign Chester City utility man Kevin Ellison on a two-year contract, subject to a medical being passed.

The 30-year-old, who has previously played for Tranmere and Hull City, will become Millers boss Mark Robins' first signing of the summer.

Robins told Radio Sheffield: "The deal should be concluded on Wednesday.

"Kevin will be a really good addition to the squad. He's got a good physical presence, and he'll add goals."

Meanwhile, the Millers have announced the capture of Sheffield United goalkeeper Jamie Annerson on a permanent basis.

The former England under-19 international has penned a two-year contract, having previously had two loan spells at the club.

Defender Nick Fenton has agreed an extension to his current contract that will see him through to the summer of 2011, and former Barnsley defender Dale Tonge has signed a new two-year deal.

Robins added: "(Dale) Tonge's signed for another two years. I think he's made significant progress last season. There have been some superb performances from him, along with a couple of goals."
