Rotherham United midfielder Stephen Brogan has revealed doctors feared he would never play football again.
The 20-year-old suffered a horrific broken leg against MK Dons in February, but has now resumed light training.
"I got my final scan last week and got the all-clear," the versatile youngster told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"But the doctor said when I first did it he doubted I'd play again. It was a shock to hear that and I'm glad he didn't tell me at the time."
Brogan has started running again within the last three weeks, but has yet to join in full training yet.

He is expected to make he first team return early in 2009.
The Millers youth system product added: "The doctor didn't tell me his fears at the time because he wanted to keep my head up.
"When he saw the x-ray last week he couldn't believe how well it's healed. I can't wait to get back into it, I'm buzzing just to be running again."
