Rochdale extend West Brom goalkeeper Luke Daniels' loan
Daniels made his Dale debut in the 2-1 loss at Peterborough United
Rochdale have extended West Bromwich Albion keeper Luke Daniels' emergency loan deal for another seven days.
The 22-year-old is at the club because of injuries to recognised keepers Josh Lillis and Matty Edwards.
"It's a strange rule that allows us to only recruit one goalkeeper even though we've got injuries to two," Dale boss Keith Hill told BBC Radio Manchester.
"That leaves us vulnerable as we can't have a goalkeeper on the bench unless we put young Jordan Andrews in there."
He added: "I don't think that would be fair on him as he's nowhere near ready mentally or capability wise.
"It's just unfortunate the Football League don't allow us the dispensation we need to have two goalkeepers."
Daniels, who has had previous loan spells at Motherwell, Tranmere and Shrewsbury, is pleased to be out on loan and playing first-team football.
"Obviously it's on a week-by-week basis so I've just got to take each game as it comes and the games I can get in the better it is for me," he said.
"I knew a couple of the lads anyway so it's not been too bad to slot in and I think I've got in and taken it quite well.
