Rochdale's new loan keeper Josh Lillis has admitted their high league placing attracted him to the League Two club.
The 22-year-old Scunthorpe stopper kept a clean sheet against Bournemouth on Saturday as Dale moved within two points of the league leaders.
He told BBC Radio Manchester: "When I was asked to come to Rochdale I thought 'Top of the league. That's where you want to be in any league.'
"They're a good team, one of the top teams in the division."
He added: "Obviously I played at Notts County last year and played against Rochdale and we got beaten 3-0.
"So I was impressed with them then and I can remember playing against them in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and I was impressed with them then as well.
"I've also been on loan at Grimsby who are all right with good players, but they've got a few injuries at the moment so it was good to get the offer from Rochdale."
