Teenage Rochdale striker Kallum Higginbotham has been rewarded with a new long-term contract at Spotland. Higginbotham, who joined Dale in the summer after being released by Oldham, has agreed a deal until June 2010.
"It is fantastic news for Kallum and the club. It means we can continue to develop his obvious talent," Dale boss Keith Hill told his club's website.
Higginbotham, 18, has made 10 appearances for Rochdale this season, scoring once.
