Reading midfielder Jay Tabb believes strength in depth is key to the club's superb form in the Championship.
The Royals are just three points behind second-placed Cardiff after beating Scunthorpe, their seventh win in a row.
Tabb told BBC Berkshire: "I honestly believe we have the strongest squad in the league, which is great for the manager but must be a headache as well.
"If you take out our starting eleven, I believe the next eleven would be in the top half of the Championship."
Tabb thinks the reasons for Reading's recent run of good form, which has now seen them unbeaten in 11 games, are simple.
"We're doing the basics well and we have players in the team that can change games," he said.

"On a night like tonight [at Scunthorpe], you look at the pitch and think you're not going to pass them off the pitch with 600 passes and win 4-0.
"It was always going to be a slog and a tough game, but we're good enough to adapt and to play any way we need to."
