McDermott says new signing Marcus Williams has settled in well

Reading manager Brian McDermott says he is not looking to sign any new players ahead of the new season.

Andy Griffin and Marcus Williams both joined this summer and with Noel Hunt back from a nine-month injury spell the manager says his squad is complete.

He told BBC Berkshire: "We're not looking, we're going to wait and see what happens with our squad, we've got decent players here so I'm happy."

He added that Noel Hunt's return was "like having a new signing".

Reading take on Farnborough this Saturday - their first pre-season match. They then head to Slovenia and Croatia for a three-match tour.

McDermott says these are significant games for his team.

"Pre-season is always important whether I'm manager or whoever the manager is," he said.

"It's massively important, we've got to do the right things and we have to prepare to win our first game.

"Our first game is against Scunthorpe so all our preparation is now geared up towards that Scunthorpe game."
