No talk of Reading reaching play-offs - Adam Federici

Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici says the Royals' players are avoiding talking about reaching the play-offs.

With nine games left Reading are within eight points of the play-off places after beating Leicester 2-1.

Federici told BBC Berkshire: "I'm happier not thinking about it. No-one's saying much about it.

"[The fans] had to put with a lot in the first half of the season and now we've turned it around for them. People are saying good stuff about us now."

Reading's win at Leicester was their ninth in the last eleven games, a run which has seen them climb from the bottom three to the top half of the table for the first time this season.

Federici paid tribute to the team's character: "We just really wanted to win and everyone works so hard for each other. We don't stop pushing and don't stop trying to win games."

Their next match is at home to second-placed West Bromwich Albion on Saturday and Federici thinks the visitors will be out for revenge.

"They're a great side. We got one over on them in the FA Cup which obviously they weren't too happy about, so they'll be coming down to beat us and beat us well," he said.

Meanwhile Australian-born Federici has announced he will give away his boots to a supporter on Saturday.

The only catch is the fan must be carrying an Australian flag or dressed as an Australian.

Reading versus West Brom kicks off at 1500 GMT on Saturday 27 March and is live on BBC Radio Berkshire.
