Reading's Gylfi Sigurdsson says he is relishing the chance given to him by manager Brendan Rodgers.
The 20-year old Icelandic midfielder has made 13 starts for the Royals this season, scoring five goals.
He told BBC Berkshire: "I'm thankful to the gaffer for having me so involved this season - I didn't expect to play so many games.
"The goals are a bonus but the most important thing is that the team get the three points."
Sigurdsson maintains that despite Reading currently languishing in 19th place in the Championship table, they can push on towards the play-off places.

"We're only 11 points off the play-offs. If we get on a good run over Christmas and January it'll be all right.
"We're getting more results than we did at the start of the season, but it's still not good enough.
"I've been saying this for a long time, but we need to kick on and get back-to-back wins.
"It's a good chance [against Scunthorpe on Saturday] to pick up three points, especially as it's at home."
Reading versus Scunthorpe United kicks off at 1500 GMT on Saturday 12 December and is live on BBC Radio Berkshire.
