Ex-Royals stars to play for Murty

Former Reading stars Kevin Doyle and Marcus Hahnemann are set to make a quick return to the Madejski Stadium.

Both players have agreed to play in the testimonial match for former club captain Graeme Murty.

The match, Brendan Rodgers' first in charge, pits the current side up against Reading's Championship winning side of 2006.

Steve Sidwell, Nicky Shorey and Leroy Lita have also agreed to play in the match on Monday 20 July.

Graeme Murty left Reading at the end of last season, having made more than 300 appearances for Reading over an 11-year spell at the club.

Proceeds from the match will help to support Swings & Smiles, a charity of which Murty is patron that raises funds to help build a recreational facility for children with special needs in the Thames Valley.
