Kebe has impressed since signing for the Royals in January
Reading winger Jimmy Kebe has agreed a new contract to keep him at the club until 2012.
The 24-year-old French-born Mali international was signed from Lens in January, and his original deal with the Royals was due to expire in June 2010.
"I'm very pleased to sign this new contract," said Kebe.
"I am happy at Reading, playing in a good team and I hope we will get promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season."
Kebe has made 26 appearances so far for Reading, and director of football, Nick Hammond, added: "Jimmy has now found his feet with us and adjusted well to English football, illustrated by the fact that he already has seven assists this season.
"He's an exciting talent who gets supporters onto the edge of their seats and it's very important that we have secured him for the next three and a half years.
"He's the kind of player who is bound to create interest from other clubs."
Currently suspended following a red card against Barnsley on 6 December, Kebe netted his first goal for the Royals when they were beaten 2-1 at home by Southampton on 22 November.
