Leroy Lita has scored just one goal this season |
Out-of-favour Reading striker Leroy Lita says he will leave the club if he fails to make more appearances. Lita, 23, has started just four Premier League games this season, often playing second fiddle to Dave Kitson.
"I've already missed half of the season and I don't want that to continue," said Lita. "If I'm not going to get the opportunity here then I have to leave."
The former England under-21 striker was a key player last term scoring 14 goals for the Royals.
Lita has scored just once this season but believes he still has what it takes to play for Steve Coppell's team.
But the Reading boss has already stated his desire to only keep players who want to play for the club.
Lita added: "The gaffer doesn't think I'm good enough but I believe I can play in this team.
"I just haven't had the chance to show what I can do and I've not been given the opportunity."

Lita started against Tottenham in the FA Cup last week but there were reports that Lita was not keen to play.
He says it was purely to aid his chances of avoiding being cup-tied and securing a transfer to another club.
He said: "The gaffer said I didn't want to play but that wasn't accurate.
"I said to him if I'm going to move on I'd like to not be cup-tied, it wasn't that I didn't want to play."
