Bikey, 21, had been on trial with the club during pre-season when his chances of joining permanently suffered a setback after a sending-off.

"He did well in Sweden until he blotted his copybook by getting sent off in the last game," Royals boss Steve Coppell told his club's website.

"But we feel that happened because he was so determined to impress."

He added: "He's a Cameroon international with good experience so we hopes he takes the opportunity and plays a full role in our season."
