Rangers given warning sign against United - McCoist

McCoist unhappy to let lead slip
Assistant manager Ally McCoist thinks Rangers have been dealt a warning after losing a two-goal lead in the 3-3 Scottish Cup draw with Dundee United.
"We didn't play well. We didn't defend as well as we have been defending," McCoist told BBC Radio Scotland.
"Maybe it's just a wee break that we've got, a wee lucky warning sign that the players can now see that there's a lot of work to be done.
"We should be seeing out games like that when we're 3-1 up at home."
Two penalties from Kris Boyd and a Nacho Novo strike put Rangers in command after Andis Shala had put United in front.
But Steven Whittaker's own goal and a header from Mihael Kovacevic set up a replay at Tanandice on 24 March.
"My over-riding feeling is probably disappointment more than relief," explained McCoist.
"I'm very disappointed in the way we defended but we're still in the cup.
"It was a proper cup tie."
United were unhappy at the award of the first-half spot-kicks with goalkeeper Dusan Pernis booked after felling Kenny Miller and Sean Dillon penalised for a nudge on Boyd.
"The first one I didn't see," added McCoist.
"The referee has given a penalty and somebody else is asking me should the goalkeeper have been sent off?
"I thought the ball was going away from the goal so I would cut the goalkeeper a bit of slack, I wouldn't be sending him off.
"The second one I thought was a penalty from where I was standing. It looked to me as though the defender came in and certainly barged or body-checked Boyd."
