Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra to miss cup final
Bougherra also missed last season's Co-operative Insurance Cup final
Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra will miss next weekend's Co-operative Insurance Cup final against St Mirren due to a hamstring tear.
Bougherra had been recovering from a strain but exacerbated the injury in training earlier this week.
"He's out for a few weeks," assistant manager Ally McCoist told BBC Scotland.
"He went for a scan and it's revealed a small tear in the hamstring, which would probably be about three weeks, hopefully less than four."
The 27-year-old was injury absentee when Rangers lost last season's final to Celtic and has been in and out of the side this season owing to injury and international duty with Algeria.
Youngster Danny Wilson is expected to continue to deputise, alongside captain David Weir in central defence.
"It's a blow but other teams have disappointments with injuries and suspensions and we're no different," added McCoist.
"Danny Wilson has been fantastic and hopefully he'll be fantastic at this club for many, many years to come."
