McKay insists Rangers asked him to find buyers for players
Football agent Willie McKay has told BBC Scotland that he was asked by the Rangers chief executive Martin Bain to find potential buyers for players.
McKay claims he was given a list of players by Bain, including captain Barry Ferguson, who has been linked with both Newcastle and Middlesbrough.
However, Rangers have told BBC Scotland that McKay was given no mandate to offer the players to interested clubs.
What is clear is that Rangers are keen to sell players to balance the books.
Meanwhile, there are conflicting reports as to whether or not Birmingham are once again in talks with Kris Boyd and agent Mark Donaghy.
Despite Rangers having accepted a bid from Birmingham, the deal appeared to be off last week when the parties could not agree on Boyd's personal terms.
