Alan Hutton has been in superb form for Rangers this season |
Rangers and Scotland full-back Alan Hutton has rejected a second approach from Tottenham, BBC Sport understands. The 23-year-old last week turned down the chance to join the English Premier League club after Rangers accepted an offer in the region of 8m.
Spurs came back with improved personal terms in a bid to lure the attack-minded defender down south.
However, Hutton, who signed a five-year deal in July, remains committed to the SPL leaders.
Spurs manager Juande Ramos is keen to add to his squad at White Hart Lane but the Spaniard will now look elsewhere for a new right-back.
Hutton has remained tight-lipped on the matter but team-mate Chris Burke is delighted with the outcome.
He said: "As a football player you just want to stay where you are happy and he is happy here.
"He can play anywhere - he has got all the attributes to be a top, top player.
"He is still learning the game, he is still young. Teams like Tottenham Hotspur coming in for him show he is a quality player.
"He is happy here and he is doing very, very well, so why change it?"
