Robert Sloan spent two seasons with Alloa Athletic |
Raith Rovers have signed Robert Sloan from Alloa Athletic and confirmed the capture of Ryan Borris from Dumbarton. Striker Sloan had joined Alloa from St Johnstone in 2005, while fellow 23-year-old Borris had been with the Sons since 2004.
Rovers manager John McGlynn told his club website: "I think Robert is now ready to fulfil the potential he showed when he broke through at Hearts.
"Ryan is a player I had an eye on since we played Dumbarton in December."
McGlynn said that both players had the versatility to play on both wings or up front.
Borris follows fellow midfielder Craig Winter from Third Division Dumbarton.
Ryan Borris found the offer too good to turn down |
There had also been interest from Stirling Albion, who have been promoted to Division One.
Borris told the Sons' website: "I'm absolutely gutted to be leaving, but I couldn't say no to Raith Rovers.
"I loved it at Dumbarton - the fans, the club, everything," said Borris.
"It was a difficult decision to leave, but Raith Rovers were so keen and it was such a good offer to play in the Second Division."
