Queen of the South midfielder Ryan McCann has turned down a new contract at Palmerston and decided to move on.
Manager Gordon Chisholm told the club website: "We made Ryan a very good offer as we were keen to keep him.
"But he leaves with our respect and good wishes for the future after all he's done for us in such a relatively short space of time."
McCann said: "I sincerely wish Queen of the South all the best next season and I hope they do well in Europe as well."
The 26-year-old began his career with Celtic before heading for Hartlepool, St Johnstone and Clyde.
He made a big impact in his four-month spell in Dumfries after arriving from Bohemians.
McCann famously scored from 84 yards against Dundee in the Scottish Cup on the way to a final appearance against Rangers that ended in defeat.
"I'll always remember those three cup-ties against Dundee, Aberdeen and Rangers," McCann added.
"No matter where I end up, the Queens' result will be one of the first I'll be looking for on a Saturday."
