Leigertwood joined QPR in 2007 from Sheffield United
Queens Park Rangers midfielder Mikele Leigertwood has said the team should be challenging for a top-six finish.
The 26-year-old told BBC London 94.9: "We have all the ingredients to go on and really push for a play-off position with the solid base that we've got.
"We have good team spirit and have a lot of ingredients to kick on and hopefully we will."
The R's are now nine games undefeated in the league after their 2-2 draw at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Leigertwood, who joined QPR in August 2007 from Sheffield United, also added that he hoped manager Paulo Sousa would remain in charge at the club for a long time.
"He's been good. Since he's come in, he's said what he wants," Leigertwood said.
"He wants our total attention, concentration, both in training and in games, and he says we have given him that so he's been full of praise.
"Hopefully he'll be here for a long time and we can kick on with him because he's really good."
