Rouse, who is just 31, spent eight years coaching young keepers at Manchester United and also worked with the reserves at Old Trafford.

More recently, Rouse worked at Rochdale and Macclesfield and has also had a spell coaching youth players at Wigan.

Rouse was on the books at Stockport as a teenager and at 30, he made his one and only League appearance when Macclesfield had a goalkeeping crisis.
