Adam Birchall's first-half strike was enough to end Macclesfield's four-game winning league streak. Barnet, buoyed by their FA Cup win over Colchester in midweek, were confident in the early stages with Birchall going close with a fierce shot.
But the Bees broke the deadlock on stroke of half-time when Bailey's pass sprung the offside trap and Birchall coolly slotted low past David Rouse.
Barnet dominated the break with Jason Puncheon and Barry Cogan going close.
