Brown has made 111 appearances for Preston, scoring 22 goals
Preston striker Chris Brown says he still has plenty to prove to the North End supporters as he prepares to make his comeback from a knee injury.
The 26-year-old has been restricted to just seven starts this season, his last appearance in the 2-1 FA Cup defeat by Nottingham Forest on 8 January.
"The fans haven't seen the best of me other than my first six months here," Brown told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"It hasn't been a great season for me but let's hope it's good from now on."
The Durham-born player added: "I had a cruciate operation when I was 17 and I think the cartilage tear that I've just had repaired was in conjuction with that.
"The history of nine years of playing has caught up with me but now it's fine, the operation went well and my leg's strong."
We've just got to keep fighting and hopefully we'll get out of trouble
Preston striker Chris Brown
Brown began his career as a trainee with Sunderland before leaving to join Norwich City for £325,000 in January 2007.
Just 24 appearances later he completed a £400,000 move to Preston, making his debut in the 1-0 win over Watford at Deepdale.
And he is hoping he, along with his fellow strikers, can help spur Preston towards safety with the club currently 11 points adrift of safety.
"It's been a case of highs and lows while I've been here," said Brown.
"But that's what happens in football and we've just got to keep fighting and hopefully we'll get out of trouble.
"We've got Nathan [Ellington] who's very good with his back to goal, along with Eddie [Johnson] and Leon Clarke who are different type of players. They've got a lot of speed about them so we've got a good mixture."
There will be full commentary on Preston's trip to Carrow Road on Saturday on BBC Radio Lancashire. The build-up begins at 1400 GMT.
