Preston North End have offered former Manchester City and Charlton goalkeeper Nicky Weaver a trial at the club.
Weaver, 30, was released by Charlton at the end of the season, following their relegation to League One.
North End boss Alan Irvine told the club website: "We've had the opportunity to bring Nicky in to do a bit of training and to play a game.
"Everybody knows he's a proven goalkeeper at this level and he's played for England Under-21s as well."
Andy Lonergan is North End's only fit senior goalkeeper following an injury to Republic of Ireland international Wayne Henderson.
Irvine will take a closer look at Weaver in Tuesday night's friendly at Wrexham.
