Parkin scored in Stoke's win over Cheltenham on Tuesday

Preston have completed the permanent signing of Stoke striker Jon Parkin for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old has signed a three-year contract at Deepdale.

Parkin joined Stoke from Hull in July 2007 for �275,000 after a loan spell and scored just two goals in 32 games in their promotion-winning season.

He initially joined Preston on loan in time to help Alan Irvine's side come from behind to beat Charlton Athletic 2-1 on Saturday.
