Preston defender Liam Chilvers has signed a new contract to keep him at the club until 2010. North End have also retained the option to a further deal on the 25-year-old.
Chilvers had a contract which was set to run until June 2010 but Preston have moved quickly to secure the services of the former Arsenal trainee.
Boss Paul Simpson told the club website:"His contract is a reward for what he has done and to bring him in line with the rest of the squad."
