Portsmouth chief executive David Lampitt has assured fans the club's owners will not leave Fratton Park once they have recouped their investment.

Pompey exited administration in October after being sold to Balram Chainrai, Levi Kushnir and Deepak Chainrai.

But some fans are planning to protest against the owners before Saturday's game with Leeds.

"The owners are not drawing a salary. They want to get this club back on its feet," Lampitt told BBC Radio Solent.

Balram Chainrai became Portsmouth's fourth owner in a year when he took over at Fratton Park in February 2009.

With Pompey having debts of £120m at that time, he placed them into administration, which resulted in a nine-point deduction that effectively sealed their relegation from the Premier League.

A summer where the future of the club was in constant doubt followed, but a financial agreement with former owner Alexandre Gaydamak was struck in October to pave the way for Chainrai, who is believed to have invested £17m in the club, to take full control.

However, just a month later, the Hong Kong businessman triggered fans' concerns when he admitted he might not be the right man to take the club forward in the long term.

"The owners have fully paid £1m of shared capital and they are underwriting the trading of the club," added Lampitt.

"There is no way over the next few years that transfer funds and parachute moneys can be touched. They are part of the operational funding of the club.

"The controls that the Football League have in place mean it's basically impossible to take money out of the club.

"At the moment there isn't any money to take, the club are breaking even."
