Halford has played in two League Cup games for Wolves this term
Portsmouth loan defender Greg Halford hopes for a change in fortune after his one-month emergency switch from Wolves.
The 25-year-old made his Pompey debut at centre-half in the 1-0 win at Millwall on Tuesday.
Halford has been restricted to just two substitute appearances in the Premier League with Wolves this season.
"It's been tough. I worked my way into the 25 for Wolves over pre-season and thought I'd done myself justice," he told BBC Radio Solent.
"I thought I warranted at least one start for the season. But it didn't come so I had to go out and get match sharpness somewhere else and I'm delighted to be down here."
Halford stood in for the injured Ricardo Rocha, who picked up a hamstring injury, against Millwall at the New Den.
The win stretched Pompey's unbeaten run to five matches and the former Reading and Sunderland player is keen to help Pompey keep up that improvement.
"All I want to do is play some games and help Portsmouth up the table."
