Portsmouth defender Sylvain Distin has welcomed Paul Hart's appointment as manager until the end of the season.
Caretaker boss Hart and his assistant Brian Kidd were told they would keep their current roles after Tuesday's 1-0 defeat by Chelsea.
Distin told BBC Radio Solent: "It's a positive decision.
"We have already had two managers this season. To change it again, I don't think, would have been any good for us as a team."
Hart took over as caretaker boss following the sacking of Tony Adams last month.
Adams had only been at the helm since October after Harry Redknapp left Fratton Park to take over at Tottenham.
