Distin worried over Pompey future

Distin is feeling nervous about Pompey's future

Portsmouth defender Sylvain Distin has told BBC Radio Solent that recent events on and off the pitch have created uncertainty in the squad.

Pompey owner Sacha Gaydamak recently made it known he is ready to sell the club and two weeks ago manager Harry Redknapp left to join Tottenham.

Distin said: "I came here and the club had a plan. Right now I do not know what that plan is.

"Every day you think 'what is going to happen today?'."

Distin, who has been a virtual ever present since arriving from Manchester City in May 2007, also said he is concerned that the club is not in good shape financially.

"You can read in the newspaper every day that the club has some financial problem," he added.

"I don't know if it's the truth or not."
