Port Vale midfielder Doug Loft is aiming to impress new boss Jim Gannon after overcoming injury problems.
The 24-year-old has been sidelined since 1 January with a calf injury, and has also had a hernia problem.
Loft told BBC Radio Stoke: "When I got injured and the new manager came in I was bitterly disappointed, as I was keen to prove myself.
"I cannot wait to get playing under him to be honest. His style of football is the style I want to play."
Loft joined Vale in 2009 from Brighton on a free transfer, and has so far made 33 league appearances, scoring three goals.

The Maidstone-born Loft says he is settled at Port Vale, and wants to stay under Gannon.
"My contract runs out in the summer and I want to show the manager that I am part of his plans," he insists.
"I enjoy being at the Vale, I think I am improving, and I am confident that I can earn a new deal."
