Port Vale striker Marc Richards is confident the club's home form will be better than it was last season despite their shaky start at Vale Park.
Vale have won three out of three on their travels but last weekend's defeat by Torquay means they have taken just one point out of six on home soil.
"We seem to do a lot better away from home than we do at home at the moment," he told BBC Radio Stoke.
"I still think we will do better at home than we did last year though."
Vale entertain Aldershot at Vale Park on Saturday and go into the game off the back of a fine performance in beating Bradford 2-0 at Valley Parade.
Richards, 28, is unsure as to why the team are yet to turn in a similar sequence of results at Vale Park, but believes it is only a matter of time before that changes.
"If I could tell you why I'd probably be a premier manager," he said.
"It's just one of those things. Last week against Torquay was a blip, we made two mistakes and they scored two goals. There won't be too many games where we lose like that at home."
Richards and strike partner and namesake Justin Richards have been a major factor in Vale's excellent start on their travels.
The club currently lie fourth in League Two, with the two Richards contributing nine goals in all competitions so far.
Both strikers are keen to beat their goal tallies from last season, with Marc having finished that campaign with 19 league goals and Justin hitting 15 before his move from Cheltenham.
"I've got a personal target and I'm sure Justin has as well and together, fingers crossed we stay fit, we should be able to do better than we did last year," he added.
