Port Vale striker Sean Rigg aims for 20-goal haul

Port Vale striker Sean Rigg believes he could hit 20 goals in their forthcoming League Two campaign.

The 21-year-old, who was released by Bristol Rovers in May, signed a two-year contract at Vale Park following a successful loan spell last season.

"If I'm playing every game and I'm getting my form up, I definitely think I could get up to around 15 or 20," Rigg told BBC Radio Stoke.

"That's definitely my aim and I'll try as hard as I can to reach that."

Rigg, who signed for Vale in November, scored three times in nine starts and 17 substitute appearances, as Micky Adams' side just missed out on a play-off place on the final day of the season.

Meanwhile, the Vale boss has said he will not be rushed into adding to the signings of Rigg and goalkeeper Stuart Tomlinson from non-league Barrow.

He said: "I've got 14 senior professionals, plus the three kids we've signed up, so potentially I've got 17 players to work with at the start of pre-season.

"Sometimes it's a real scramble before the season kicks off to strengthen squads, but I can relax and take my time now."
