Port Vale manager Micky Adams insists his team can still make the play-offs despite a second consecutive defeat.
After losing at Burton Albion and at home to Chesterfield the Vale are now nine points off the top seven.
He told BBC Radio Stoke: "People will write us off although we've still got 18 games to play.
"It's my job to keep the players focussed and we'll try and win as many points as we can between now and the end of the season."
The Vale travel to Torquay on Saturday looking to put their promotion hopes back on track.
Defender Gareth Owen is the only doubt after limping off in Tuesday night's defeat at home by Chesterfield with a hamstring injury.
