Anyon not seeking move from Vale

Port Vale goalkeeper Joe Anyon has said he will not be looking to leave the club on loan in order to aid his comeback from a broken leg.

Anyon has not played for the Vale first team since suffering the injury in the 2-1 defeat by Chesterfield in March.

"The management team will know when the time is right for me to get some games," he told BBC Radio Stoke.

"All I've got to do is concentrate on playing football, whether it's in training or for the reserves."

Anyon, 22, continued his comeback in the Valiants' reserve team in Monday's 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion.

He admitted he is starting to get "itchy feet" about a possible first-team comeback, but is hoping that his chance will come in the right circumstances.

"I don't want to come into the team because they aren't doing well," said Anyon. "I want to be part of a winning team.

"It's a collective effort and we all want the club to move forward. I'm happy to watch at the moment and see how well the lads are doing.

"Hopefully when I'm called upon I'll be ready and I can show the manager what I can do."

Anyon has already made more than 100 league starts for the Valiants and was named as the club's player of the year in 2008-09.
