Dodds netted his first goal of the season against Hereford on Saturday
Port Vale are beginning to reap the benefits of new manager Micky Adams' arrival, according to Louis Dodds.
Vale have lost just one of their five league games so far, and reached the third round of the Carling Cup.
"I think we're starting to play like the gaffer wants us to now," the 22-year-old told BBC Radio Stoke.
"We're getting in people's faces, trying to play down the channels and creating chances. If we keep it up, I think we'll go places this season."
The midfielder was left out of the starting line-up for the first four matches of the season, but regained his first-team place in the home victory over Darlington on 22 August.
And Dodds, who scored 10 times in his first season with the club, netted for the first time in the new campaign in the 2-2 draw against Hereford on Saturday.
"It's always nice to get that first goal, hopefully they'll start rolling in for me now," added Dodds.
"We're creating a lot of chances and hopefully we can score more than twice in a game soon."
