Port Vale boss Dean Glover said he had no complaints with the decision to call off Tuesday's game at Accrington.
The surface was waterlogged after a heavy downpour and referee Graham Laws postponed the game at 1830 GMT.
Glover told BBC Radio Stoke: "It would have been nice to have been alerted a little bit earlier, it's like a swimming pool out there.
"It'll be better for us to play on a better pitch, it would have been a bit of a death trap to play on that."
A date has yet to be set for the rearranged fixture.
