Plymouth Argyle boss Paul Sturrock insists it will take "an awful lot of money" to move striker Jamie Mackie away from Home Park.
The 24-year-old has been the subject of transfer speculation linking him with several other Championship clubs.
Sturrock told BBC Devon: "Your good players will always be sought after. They'll always be thought of as big fish in a small pond.
"It will take an awful lot of money for Jamie Mackie to move."
Mackie is the club's top scorer this season with five goals.

Sturrock said any potential transfer involving Mackie would have to provide enough money to help bolster his struggling squad.
"In the end there are areas of the team that we have to strengthen but we desperately need to move some of the players on as well," he said.
"If we can move those players on it'll make a huge space for two or three decent players to come in."
Plymouth are currently second-bottom in the Championship after losing 12 games.
They travel to Preston North End in the league on Saturday.
