Plymouth Argyle have signed 18-year-old winger Dan Smith to a one-year deal at the Championship club.
Smith, who is a product of Argyle's youth academy, made his debut as a substitute at Burnley in January.
Argyle boss Paul Sturrock said Smith reminds him of David Norris, who left the club for Ipswich on deadline day.
"He seems to have that kind of engine and that kind of vitality. He's a young player who has the potential to be a real force for us," he said.
Smith, who was born just over the border in Saltash in Cornwall, first joined the club as a 10-year-old as part of their centre of excellence in Bodmin.
