Plymouth Argyle have signed Motherwell defender Jim Paterson for an undisclosed fee.
Left-back Paterson, who has been at Motherwell for four years, has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal.
Paterson had a six-year spell at Dundee United, where he was given his debut by Plymouth boss Paul Sturrock, during his time as Tangerines manager.
The 28-year-old defender, who is a former Scottish Under-21 international, played over 100 times for Motherwell.
A busy day of deals at Home Park also saw David Norris join Ipswich and Scott Laird move to Stevenage, both for undisclosed fees.
