Plymouth goalkeeper Romain Larrieu is set to be ruled out for two months after doctors discovered a growth on his abdomen. Argyle manager Paul Sturrock said: "It is 99.9% sure that it will be rectified with treatment.
"It puts football into perspective when things like this happen but there is no danger to his life in any way."
Larrieu, 31, is in the squad for the FA Cup tie at Portsmouth as it is not known when the treatment will start.
The Frenchman experienced a cancer scare in 2006 and had a malignant tumour removed.
