Sturrock hates the disruption that transfer speculation causes |
Plymouth manager Paul Sturrock has hit out at the January transfer window, claiming it has caused unrest in the Argyle dressing room. Midfielder David Norris missed Saturday's FA Cup third round victory over Hull City with a stomach bug.
"Everybody thinks Chuck Norris is on his way somewhere else," Sturrock said.
Reports have linked the 26-year-old with a move, with Ipswich boss Jim Magilton confirming the club had a bid of over 1m rejected for Norris.
"This is a nonsense this time of the year. It just sets people buzzing and it can cause all sorts of unrest in your camp," Sturrock added.
 | We've made offers for four or five players in the last three days |
Sturrock also claims the inflated wage demands of players means the Devon side are finding it hard to compete as they look to strengthen their squad after the departures of Dan Gosling, Barry Hayles and Akos Buszaky.
"I'm fed up. We've made offers for four or five players in the last three days. We're waiting on word back from several of them. In the end the prices are hiked up because it's this time of the season.
"The 31st can't come quickly enough for me."
