Peterborough United sign Premier League youngsters
Mendez-Laing played the first hour for Wolves against Swindon last August
Peterborough United have signed two young players from Premier League clubs in the space of one day.
Chelsea defender Seth Nana Ofori-Twumasi, 20, who has not played for the first team at Stamford Bridge, has arrived on a three-year deal.
Posh have also signed winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, 18, on a season-long loan from Wolves.
Mendez-Laing has played just one senior game for Wolves, in last season's League Cup against Swindon Town.
"He is quick, likes to attack players and I believe he will be an excellent acquisition," said Posh boss Gary Johnson.
"He was with us for two weeks at the back end of last season and was keen to join us throughout the summer.
"I know Mick McCarthy very well and he was happy to allow him to join us and we are delighted he is here.
"He can play and fits in well with the squad that we are assembling here at London Road."
Ofori-Twumasi was born in Ghana but has represented England youth sides
As for the signing of Ofori-Twumasi from Johnson's old club, champions Chelsea, the Posh boss told the club's website: "Anyone who has been at Chelsea for a few years has obviously got something and we are delighted to have him on board.
"He is a strong lad, a quality player and is a fantastic inclusion to our squad.
"He can play right-back, left-back, midfield and at centre-half, even though he is not the biggest. He is a player for all positions.
"He had a lot of clubs after him, including big clubs from abroad, so we're thrilled he's liked what he's seen here."
