Peterborough United have moved to further reinforce their defensive options with Dagenham & Redbridge left-back Scott Griffiths.

Griffiths, 23, has signed on loan until January with a view to a permanent move and is expected to go straight into the squad for Scunthorpe on Saturday.

Posh boss Darren Ferguson told the club website: "Scott isn't the biggest, but has good spring.

"He will certainly boost our options in that position."

With Tommy Williams and Jamie Day both out of contract in the summer, Ferguson has been keen to add another left-sided defender to his squad.

Griffiths made more than 200 appearances for Dagenham and has two caps for the England National Game XI.
