Defender Jamie Day has echoed boss Darren Ferguson's view that it is essential Peterborough United win against Reading on Saturday.
Posh have gone seven Championship matches without a victory.
Day told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "It's crucial we get that first win against Reading.
"As soon as we get that first win it will give us a lift and hopefully we'll then go on a run as we did in League Two and League One."
Posh will set a new club record for league games without a victory at the start of a season should they fail to beat Reading.
Ferguson is waiting on the fitness of Chris Whelpdale after he suffered a head injury in Tuesday's draw with Leicester.

Charlie Lee and Ben Wright remain unavailable with ankle problems, but Paul Coutts could replace Lee Frecklington in central midfield.
Meanwhile, Day is hoping to make an impact on the first team after over a year out following back surgery.
"The gaffer has been brilliant with me and I know patience is everything at the minute," he said.
"He's told me I'm in his plans and it's a long season so I'll just have to wait for my chance."
