Peterborough United winger Adam Newton has expressed interest in a move to League Two side Brentford after being put on the transfer list.

The 27-year-old has been at London Road since 2002 and played 26 times this season as Posh reached promotion to League One.

The club have also confirmed goalkeeper Mark Tyler, 31, will not make a permanent move to Hull.

Tyler did not start a first-team game since joining City on loan in January.

Director of football Barry Fry told the club website: "Brentford made an enquiry for Adam and he is quite keen on the move.

"Unfortunately Brentford can't afford to pay him what he is getting at Peterborough and we, as a club, are not prepared to give him the money to leave because he has another year left on his contract and ended the season in the team.

"However, Adam has expressed an interest in leaving and that has left the chairman and the manager thinking that it is best that he goes on the transfer list."

Fry has confirmed goalkeepers Mark Tyler and Shwan Jalal are also on the list along with defenders Adam Smith and Daniel Blanchett, midfielder Josh Low and striker Danny Crow.
