Mclean wants Posh to keep focus

Peterborough United

Peterborough United striker Aaron Mclean insists his club have achieved nothing yet and are only well-placed for success this season.

Posh are second in League Two and play leaders MK Dons away on Friday.

Mclean, 24, is top of the League Two scoring table with 25 goals and said: "Once the job is done then you can look back at a brilliant season.

"As a team we want to get promotion. As an individual I'd like to get the golden boot."

He added: "We want to win the league and by beating MK Dons we can send out a statement of intent to the rest of the league.

At the beginning of the season I wanted to get 20 goals and if I can get close to 30 I will be happy

"It's going to be two teams both wanting to win the game and both playing attractive football.

"We know that if we don't come away with three points it's not the end of the world as we still have seven games to go."

Mclean admits he's already achieved his target in terms of goal for the campaign.

He said: "At the beginning of the season I wanted to get 20 goals and if I can get close to 30 I will be happy."
