Steve Bleasdale took charge of Peterborough in January 2006 |
Former Peterborough manager Steve Bleasdale admits he made a mistake in leaving the club an hour before Saturday's clash with Macclesfield. Bleasdale was furious that owner Barry Fry questioned his team tactics and walked out before the League Two game.
But he said: "I regret leaving after a spur of the moment decision with regards to team selection. This is the only time Barry has intervened."
Bleasdale took over the post from Mark Wright in January.
Bleasdale added: "After an amicable meeting with Barry and a settlement on my entitlement, I would like to thank Barry and wish them all the best in the remaining matches."
In a club statement, Fry added: "Steve realises he has made a mistake and there is no turning back.
"I would like to thank him for his passion, commitment, honesty and everything he has done for the club.
"I tried to give Steve every assistance but to throw him in at the deep end with little or no help left him with a huge task.
"Because of these difficulties Steve has done a brilliant job to leave us in the position he has."
