Mixed fortunes on injury front for Oxford United

Murray and Potter will both miss Oxford's next game against Rushden.

Oxford United have received mixed news over injuries to two midfielders.

Captain Adam Murray does not require an operation on a back problem and will step up his rehabilitation this week.

Murray told BBC Oxford: "At first it looked like I'd be out for a couple of months but if it goes to plan it could be a couple of weeks."

But Alfie Potter now faces three or four weeks on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring problem in the win over Histon.

The U's are set to send Potter for a scan on Monday but manager Chris Wilder remains realistic about the possibility of a quick return to action.

"We think Alfie will be out for three to four weeks. It is a blow as he gives us a drive going forward," Wilder said.

"It is disappointing losing Alfie as he has done well but, as always, it opens the door for someone else."
